St. Gabriel Catholic School offers several opportunities for students to get involved in clubs at school as well as those associated with our parish. In order to make the most of these opportunities parental involvement is encouraged and in many cases necessary to help the clubs fully meet their objectives.
Various types of clubs are available to our students--scouting, chess, choir, yearbook. Many of these clubs are open to specific grade levels as a way of ensuring that all the participants are able to fully participate in and enjoy the designed activities. There are several other clubs that are new this year. Mother/Daughter Book Clubs for grades 2 - 5, a Lego club, Girls on the Run, and Let Me Run for 4th and 5th Grade boys. A few highlights of current club activity include: Chess Club - Meets weekly offering tournament-style match play and lessons provided by a true chess master. Club members have the opportunity to play in a number of county-wide chess tournaments throughout the year. This club is open to 2nd-5th grade students. Choir - Students in 3rd - 5th grades are invited to participate in this vocal group. Our Music teacher leads practice weekly. Additionally, Mr. Patterson, our music teacher, leads the choir as they sing for All School Masses and other special occasions. Yearbook - Fifth graders are invited to submit their applications to participate in the development of our school's annual yearbook. These submissions should be well organized and exhibit the students commitment to working toward an outstanding and complete yearbook for our entire school.
