Girls On The Run is a life-changing, non-profit prevention program for girls in the 3rd through 8th grade. Our mission is "to educate and prepare girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living."
The program combines training for a 5K (3.1 miles) running race with healthy living education. Our programs instill self-esteem and strong values through health education, life skills development, mentoring relationships, and physical training - all of which are accomplished through an active collaboration with girls and their parents, schools, volunteers, staff, and the community.
Girls on the Run promotes physical, emotional, social and intellectual development in 3rd through 5th grade girls. The girls complete the 12-week running program with a stronger sense of identity, greater self-confidence, a healthier body image and a better knowledge of what it means to be a member of a team and a community.
Please see the PTO Contact List for the PTO chair for this group.
